On Monday, Galvão Bueno announced the best XI of the 2015 Brazilian Championship, and the team was filled with players from Corinthians and Atlético Mineiro.
It was elected following a voting by the coaches and captains of Série A, the technical committee of the Brazilian national team and the players called up to represent Brazil against Argentina and Peru, as well as many journalists throughout Brazil. The highlight is the amount of representatives from league champions Corinthians and Atlético Mineiro, still fighting for the runner-up spot. Corinthians manager Tite is the best coach, while Atlético Mineiro’s Argentine striker Lucas Pratto was elected as the best foreigner of 2015. Cássio, Gil, Elias, Renato Augusto and Jádson represent Timão in the best XI, while Atlético are represented by four players; Jemerson, Marcos Rocha, Douglas Santos and Rafael Carioca. The only representatives outside these two clubs form the attack, Grêmio forward Luan and Santos striker Ricardo Oliveira. 18-year-old Palmeiras winger Gabriel Jesus was the revelation of this season’s Brasileirão.
