Former Brazil U20 coach Alexandre Gallo, who was sacked during the middle of this year, is an old admirer of Grêmio striker Yuri Mamute, and can take the 20-year-old to Asia.
Al Qadisiyah, currently led by coach Alexandre Gallo, have expressed interest in signing the player, but an official proposal is yet to be made, according to the Brazilian club’s board. As mentioned in Globo Esporte, Grêmio are open to negotiating the youngster who has a contract until 2018, and there is an ongoing conversation between the agent Jorge Machado and representatives of the Saudi Arabian side. For now, there is no definition on whether it’s a loan deal or permanent transfer. Alexandre Gallo’s admiration for Yuri Mamute is nothing new, as the coach, when in charge of the Brazilian U20 team, called up the player on several occasions, and he was even the best player of 2013 Toulon Tournament. Mamute, who had a loan spell at Botafogo in 2014, was considered as one of the jewels of Gremio’s youth teams and has been with the professionals since he was 16.
