Flamengo have sold Samir to Udinese for €4 million; he will go on loan to Granada until next summer
After nearly a year of negotiations, Flamengo have at last finalized the sale of 20-year-old central defender Samir to Italian club Udinese.
According to Globo Esporte, the transfer fee is in the region of €4 million, and Flamengo will receive half of the price as they own 50% of the player's economic rights. Other 50% is divided between BMG [30%], Audax-RJ [10%] and Samir himself owns 10%. Samir will be loaned out to La Liga side Granada for six months to compete in the second half of the European season. Both Udinese and Granada are owned by Giampaolo Pozzo. The sale puts an end to the negotiations that has dragged on since early 2015 when Udinese made their first attempt to sign the player. There was another strong contact for the defender in May, and a good relationship between the two clubs was formed following the loan deal that took Armero to Brazil. Thus, Flamengo decreased their asking price of Samir from €5m to €4m, but just for Udinese. In nearly two years, Samir played 92 games for the club and scored 4 goals.
