Corinthians coach Tite commented on the possible return of striker Alexandre Pato who’s on loan at rivals São Paulo until the end of this year.
Pato has a contract with Timão until December 2016, but the club aims to recover the €15 million paid for the striker in 2013, and intend to sell him to Europe in the January transfer window, waiting for an appropriate proposal to appear. Although there have been speculation about interest from English clubs, no concrete proposal has reached Corinthians. Coach Tite was positive in his comments, and wants the player for the upcoming season. He said: “He is a player of our club, and is valued by the quality he has. I want Alexandre Pato.”
In an interview with Estado de S. Paulo, the coach who made his team Brasileirão champions this year, once again denied any conversations to take over the Brazilian national team. Tite came to be speculated following the departure of Mano Menezes and Scolari in 2012 and 2014 respectively. He said: “I’m very happy at Corinthians. I’ve already answered this question 300 times and I won’t say anything more. Anything I say from now on will leave space for misinterpretation. My time with the national team has already passed and it is far behind.”
