Corinthians director Edu Gaspar was in England days before the club sealed their sixth Brasileirão title with a 1-1 draw against Vasco da Gama at the São Janúario.
Edu took advantage of the break in the Brasileirão for the World Cup qualifiers and visited the training center of Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal. Edu, who played for Arsenal between 2001 and 2005, revealed that he talked about various issues with Arsène Wenger, including Alexandre Pato, who hopes to return to Europe in January. He said: “They [media] said that I went to sell Pato, but I went for other things. I went to see departments and hold meetings with guys. I wasn’t there to tout him around but if people ask about him, I’m going to answer. I talked and they asked questions, not just about him, but about a few of our players. They know them well. I had lunch with Arsène Wenger and he asked about him and others."
