Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva has never hid his affection for Brazilian club Fluminense, and has once again said that he wants to end his career in Rio in a few years.
Thiago Silva played for Fluminense from 2006 to 2008. During this period, he won the 2007 Copa do Brasil and became an idol of the supporters that dubbed him “Monster” for his performances. The defender was also part of the the team that was runner-up in the 2008 Copa Libertadores. After leaving Fluminense, he went to AC Milan where he won the league title in 2011, and also the Italian Supercup. He moved to PSG in 2012 and has won a total of 9 titles with the French side. He told the club’s site: “In Europe, I think PSG will be my last club and I want to play these last few years at a good level. I would go to Rio, where I was born, to finish my career in the most beautiful way, wearing the Fluminense shirt. Perhaps one year, six months or just a game. Let’s see what the future holds.”
