Santos playmaker Lucas Lima, who earned a Brazil call-up this year following his consistently good performances, is one of the targets of Italian side Napoli for the January transfer window.
According to the information from Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli have started negotiations to sign the player and their director of football Cristiano Giutoli has travelled to Brazil to contact the agent Édson Khodor. Santos are asking a fee of €20 million for Lucas Lima, and have already rejected an offer of €13m from FC Porto. Édson Khodor, who revealed the interest from Real Madrid recently, talked to the site Calcio Napoli, and confirmed Napoli’s interest without elaborating. He said: “Napoli does have an interest. At the moment, it’s all I can say.”
Lucas Lima has a contract with Santos until December 2017 but the club goes through financial problems, and would be willing to sell the player to raise cash.
