Colombian forward Stiven Mendoza is currently on loan at Indian Super League side Chennaiyin FC and has scored 10 goals this season, including two hat-tricks.
Former president and current football superintendent Andrés Sánchez had recently confirmed through social network that Corinthians are selling Mendoza for €3.5 million. Now, football manager Edu Gaspar has also said that they"re very close to concluding negotiations of the player, without revealing the destination, which can be Europe. He was quoted in Globo Esporte: “We are concluding [the negotiation]. I"ve been asked a preference, they want to pay for a preference on the player and are analysing how it will be. But the proposal has arrived. I cannot reveal the club because I"m still collecting signatures and talking to lawyers."
Mendoza was signed by Corinthians in December last year on a four-year contract after impressing for Chennaiyin FC in the inaugural edition of ISL. He made 29 appearances for the club and scored 3 goals.
