A Corinthians player in the 90"s, and World Cup champion with Brazil in 2002, Rivaldo congratulated the club for winning their sixth Brazilian Championship.
In a post on his official Instagram account, Rivaldo considers Corinthians as deserved champions, and praised coach Tite as the best in Brazil. He wrote: “Congratulations Corinthians for the deserved title and all the players played very well throughout the championship, and I want to congratulate the best coach of Brazil [Tite]. He can train any club in Europe and will succeed, no doubt."
Corinthians won the Brasileirão on Thursday night after their 1-1 draw with Vasco at the São Januário. Second-placed Atlético Mineiro lost 4-2 to São Paulo, so a draw was enough for Timão to be champions with three games to spare. Corinthians are the team with the best attack [64 goals], the best defense [27], the most wins [23] and fewest defeats [4] in the league.
Between 1993 and 94, Rivaldo played 62 games in a Corinthians shirt and scored 22 goals. He recently returned to the club after 21 years to recover from a meniscus injury in his right knee.
