Former World Player of The Year and Brazilian attacking midfielder Kaká earns the highest salary among players in the Americas.
The Mexican edition of Forbes magazine prepared a list of 20 players earning the highest salary in Americas, and Orlando City star Kaká tops the chart with US$ 7.16 million a year. Italian forward Sebastian Giovinco, who plays for Toronto FC in the MLS, comes second with US$ 7.11m. MLS dominates the list, and some of the stars of the competition appearing in the rankings. Former Liverpool and England captain Steven Gerrard is 4th with US$ 6.3m, while ex-Chelsea star Frank Lampard [US$ 5.61m] came 5th. Spain striker David Villa was 6th on the list with an yearly salary of US$ 5.61m, and Italian midfielder Andrea Pirlo [US$ 2.31m] was 17th.
