Samir is one of the most valued youngsters at Flamengo, and there has been interest from Italian club Udinese for quite a while.
As mentioned in Globo Esporte, both Flamengo and Udinese sat down earlier this year and a €5 million proposal seemed appealing to both parties, but a deal didn’t materialize as Samir refused to agree wages with the Italians. The situation has changed in recent days, as Giampaolo Pozzo, who’s a shareholder at both Udinese and Granada, is confident of signing him. The general director of Flamengo, Fred Luz, confirmed the talks, but says there’s nothing concrete. Udinese currently exceeds the limit of non-EU players, hence Pozzo wants to send Samir on loan to Granada. In addition to this, a move to Spain would also be an opportunity for the 20-year-old to start adapting to Europe before transferring permanently to Udinese.
