Brazil winger Willian declared himself happy with a point in Buenos Aires after his side’s 1-1 draw in World Cup qualifying with Argentina. Brazil went behind to a first half goal from Ezequiel Lavezzi, and spent much of the game on the back foot. But Lucas Lima’s second half equaliser salvaged a draw for Brazil, who had David Luiz sent off late on.

“Playing here, we knew it would be a tough match and a point away from home is a good return. In the second half we managed to create a little more, we could have had the second goal, but a point is good. In the first half, we were losing the ball and letting them counter attack. For their goal, we missed the ball upfront and allowed them to counterattack. But overall, the Brazilian team played a good match, it is difficult to play here against Argentina, so I think one point is better than none.”

Willian admitted that Brazil, on 4 points from their first three qualifiers, need to beat Peru in Salvador on Tuesday, “I wanted to win the game against Argentina, even playing away from home, we wanted the three points. But we must beat Peru now. Playing at home, the obligation to win is ours. Against Peru we have to attack and try to win.”
