Alexandre Pato’s two-year loan spell at São Paulo is coming to an end next month, and Corinthians, owning 60% of his rights, are trying to sell him in January.
The superintendent of football, Andrés Sánchez, was very clear when speaking about the player’s situation in an interview with SporTV, and affirmed that they will sell him only for a minimum fee of €20 million. Corinthians bought Pato from AC Milan in 2013 for a club record fee of €15m, but was loaned after disappointing performances. Andrés said: “If he’s not sold in the January transfer window, then he will play at Corinthians and will have his pre season here. Unless there’s a proposal of at least €20m, e will fulfill the contract at Corinthians. We don’t want to ‘dispose’ him. If we had this idea, then we would sell for €10m. He is at the club. At the end of the contract, he can be happy wherever he wants.”
