Highlight of Brazil Olympic team’s friendly games last month in Manaus, Santos forward Gabriel Barbosa was a new face in the starting XI during the first training session under coach Rogério Micale on Tuesday.
Rogério Micale conducted his first training session with the full cast ahead of the Olympic team’s two friendly games against the United States, and in form forward Gabigol took the position of Chelsea winger Kenedy. In the games against Dominican Republic and Haiti in October, the 19-year-old forward scored three goals and gave one assist. Against Dominican Republic, he began on the bench, but was given a start in the next game. Monaco’s Fabinho, was used on the right-side, and at the end of the session, some players focused on free-kicks and penalties.
Brazil faces the United States on Wednesday at Sport’s Ilha do Retiro stadium, and based on the training XI, they should line up: Éderson; Fabinho, Rodrigo Ely, Dória, Wendell; Fred, Lucas Silva, Felipe Anderson; Gabriel Jesus, Luan, Gabigol.
