Santos are currently in the top-4 of the Brazilian Championship and are also in the Copa do Brasil final, and Gabriel Barbosa is confident that they will play in the Libertadores next year.
Gabigol ensures that his will is to stay at the club in 2016, and with 18 goals this season, he talked about his partnership with league top scorer Ricardo Oliveira. The forward said during a press conference on Wednesday, at CT Rei Pelé: “Missing out on top-4? I don"t think so. I always think positive, like the entire team. We want to get top-4, and become [Copa do Brasil] champions. We know it"s very difficult, but we hope to perform our game, and become Copa do Brasil champions."
He added: “The wil is to stay. Of course we do not know everything that can happen, but everyone knows I want to stay here to make history and my desire is to play the Libertadores."
When asked about his partnership with Ricardo Oliveira, he said: “It"s very easy to play with him. He is experienced and intelligent. I know the moves that he likes to make, and he knows my movements. I"m trying to make the most of it, sit, be close, and learn as much."
