After getting on the score-sheet for the national team last week against Venezuela, Ricardo Oliveira was released from the Santos squad that traveled to Porto Alegre where they faced Grêmio.
The striker returned to action on Sunday in the club"s 3-1 victory over Goiás at the Vila Belmiro and scored twice which took his tally to 19 for the season. The league top-scorer admits that he may be in the best phase of his career, and says Santos" performances can be even better in the final stretch of the season. Santos are in the Copa do Brasil semifinals where they"ll face rivals São Paulo, and are also aiming for a top-4 finish. He said: “Maybe in number of goals during a season, maybe yes [best stage]. Fact is that I am very happy in all aspects in the peak of the career and glad to be able to contribute with my work. The fact is that the collective work has benefited me a lot. I am satisfied. It"s a good season which can be excellent, because we have a good chance in both [Copa do Brasil and top-4]"
