Chances of 19-year-old striker Clayton staying at Figueirense in 2016 are minimal as he’s already been monitored closely by clubs in Brazil, and also Europe.
As reported by Globo Esporte, Spartak Moscow representative Dmitriy Popov and Clayton’s agent Jorge Machado were in the box at the Estádio Orlando Scarpelli on Wednesday to watch the young striker. Figueirense defeated Flamengo, and Spartak’s delegation which included three representatives, were impressed with Clayton who scored two goals. During the talks, the Russian club requested the priority to purchase the attacker’s rights, and they’re favorites to land him at the end of the year. So far, the proposal from Spartak is the one that pleases both Figueirense and the player’s staff. The figures, however, are not revealed, but the proposal fulfills all requirements of the board. The one factor that may hinder a possible transfer to Spartak is the fear of Clayton failing to adapt to the country’s harsh winter climate. Clayton is the club’s top-scorer this season, and was one of the highlights of the Brazilian team during the Pan-American Games in Toronto.
