The striker Ricardo Oliveira is back at Santos after representing Brazil in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Venezuela.
Ricardo Oliveira, who was called up to the national team after a long eight years, came on for some minutes in the second half against Chile in Santiago, and then started in the fixture with Venezuela in Fortaleza, also scoring Brazil’s third goal. The 35-year-old striker wasn’t included in the squad for the club’s trip to Porto Alegre where they faced Grêmio on Thursday, and was allowed to go to São Paulo where he lives with his family. He was quoted in Globo Esporte: “I am very happy for the return to the national team, for being able to be a protagonist, score a goal, make up the group and help my teammates. Now I turn my 100% focus to Santos for the remainder of the season. And I hope that I am called up again in the next list.”
