Alexander Pato has a long list of admirers from Arsenal to Manchester United, none more so than in the Premier League which may go some way to explaining Corinthian"s £18.5 million price tag on the Brazilians head.

The 26 year old is currently on loan at rivals Sao Paulo where he has notched 13 goals in 34 appearances this year and his parent club"s deputy director of football Eduardo Ferreira has said if no-one comes in for the hitman then he will return to Corinthians in January.

“At the moment there are only enquiries," Ferreira told Globo Esporte.

“But if a club comes in with an offer of €25m (£18.5m), we will let him go, otherwise he will return [in January]."

However the club are currently in a spot of financial turmoil and the strikers upturn in form means they may be able to cash in, in the new year with the new heftier fee taking into consideration the player owning 40% of his own economic rights.

This will put the likes of North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur on red alert, as they are looking for a striker to bolster their attacking options. Louis Van Gaal"s Manchester United may also be an alternative for Pato after the Manchester club bid for the ex-AC Milan starlet in the summer.

Despite Pato"s stuttering form over the past few years, where many would say he hasn"t fulfilled his potential after he burst onto the scene in Milan. An in form striker is hard to find at any level of the game and it may just prove good business for a club to pounce whilst Pato"s stock but most importantly his confidence is high.
