Without many first teamers available for training due to national team call ups and injuries, Santos coaching staff are using the international break to get some of their players back in shape.
Fitness coach Carlito Macedo and physiotherapist Tom Pierin were responsible for taking care of Marquinhos Gabriel, Geuvânio and Gustavo Henrique who were at the club’s training center on Sunday. Among the three players, Geuvânio would be the only one unavailable for Santos’ trip to Porto Alegre where they will face Grêmio on Thursday. He’s expected to return to action for Peixe’s Copa do Brasil semifinal second leg against rivals São Paulo at the end of this month. The medical team will try to get him back for the first leg at Morumbi, but the chances are slim. Club coach Dorival Júnior is not concerned about the situation of Marquinhos Gabriel, who has a problem in his right thigh, and defender Gustavo Henrique, recovering from a muscle discomfort.
