Brazilian national team captain Neymar is off to Brazil until Sunday and on Friday, he visited his institute in Praia Grande on the coast of São Paulo, for a party to celebrate children’s day.
The Barcelona forward said he did not watch the 2-0 defeat of the national team against Chile in the first round of CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers. Neymar, who is suspended from the first two rounds of the qualifiers, was traveling to Brazil and, therefore, could not see the game. However, Neymar believes Brazil will turn things around and also praised the Chilean team. He was quoted in Globo Esporte: “I could not see the game, my flight was delayed a little and when I arrived, the match was over. Watched the best moments, I read reviews of some people. I do not have an opinion because I did not watch.”
He added: “I have full confidence in the group, which is of high quality. It was only the first game, and it was hard against Chile, a team doing a great job for years. All their merit. We must work to win the next game.”
