After injuring his knee in Cruzeiro’s 2-0 victory over Coritiba at the Mineirão, Álisson who underwent an arthroscopy on Friday, started physiotherapy on Tuesday at Toca da Raposa II.
The physiotherapy department expects the player to have a good recovery process from the surgery, and was surprised with his status. The physiotherapist of the club, Charles de Oliveira Costa, said: “We were surprised by his favorable clinical status. The player has virtually no swelling, shows no decrease in the amplitude of motion and is almost painless. We started the treatment and we will observe the evolution over the week. The surgery was very well done and it shortens the road to recovery. It was a partial withdrawal of the meniscus in an area that we consider benign. It means that the harmful repercussions in the joint are smaller and have a good prognosis for improvement.”
Álisson thanked the doctors and is optimistic about returning as soon as possible. He said: “First, I would like to thank the affection of all the fans for the messages I’m getting. Thank God the surgery was a success, was in the hands of good people and I want to thank the doctors here at Toca and the physiotherapists as well. You can be sure that soon I’ll be back.”
