Bolton’s on loan forward Wellington Silva netted his first goal for the club but couldn’t stop his team from going down 3-2 at Queens Park Rangers.

The Brazilian, on loan from Arsenal came on for Max Clayton in the 80th minute and only needed six minutes to score Bolton’s equaliser.

The 22 year old was brought into the club in August just after the start of the season and has played six games for the Championship team but hadn’t found the net before the games against QPR.

Wellington has been deployed on the left of an attacking threesome as Neil Lennon favours a progressive 4-2-3-1 formation. This is where he found himself in the 85th minute as he picked up the ball before guiding a right footed shot beyond Rob Green.

He could have won the game for his side in a near on carbon copy only minutes later but this time put his shot wide of the post.

Despite Bolton’s loss and their perilous position in the league at this early stage, Wellington should be pleased at his contribution so far but will hope he can add a few more goals to his solitary one so far.

Lennon said upon his arrival that the young Brazilian will add a new dimension to Bolton attack and on this fleeting performance than he should be proved correct.

It will take a lot of persistence and a stroke of luck a la Francis Coquelin for Wellington to ever make his mark at the Emirates Stadium. However if he does stamp his authority on this Bolton side and chip in with goals and assists then Arsene Wenger will have a decision to make on where his future lies.
