Former World Player of the Year Ronaldinho, who left Fluminense and currently enjoying his vacation in Rio Grande do Sul, was involved in a car accident on Friday.
The vehicle he traveled in, went off the road and landed in a ditch beside the street during his way back home, but the accident was not serious. Residents recognized the player, and speaking to journal Extra, his agent and brother Assis confirmed the incident. He said: “It was no big deal. He was the driver and the accident happened. All is well.”
Ronaldinho spends time with his family in Rio Grande do Sul after asking to leave Fluminense, and on Tuesday, he celebrated the birthday of his mother Miguelina.
During conversation with friends and family before informing Fluminense his desire to leave the club, Ronaldinho had said that he no longer felt like playing. Californian club Corinthians USA had expressed an interest in signing the player, and Ronaldinho himself welcomes the chance to play in the United States.
