Santos playmaker Lucas Lima returned to train on the field and is expected to be back in the squad for Sunday’s Brasileirão Round-29 game against Fluminense at the Vila Belmiro.
After sitting out against Figueirense due to a thigh injury, Lucas Lima trained on the pitch at CT Rei Pelé on the afternoon of Friday. Lucas didn’t play in the club’s Copa do Brasil quarterfinal second-leg fixture against Figueirense on Thursday after suffering the injury last weekend in a 3-1 home victory over Internacional. Since then he’s been recovering at Santos’ training center to be fit for the Fluminense game before joining up with the Brazilian national team on Sunday night for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Lucas told journalists at the training center: “Zero pain. I want to play, but we’ll see.”
Full-back Victor Ferraz, who has back pain, remained in the gym on Friday and will be re-evaluated to determine if he’ll available for Sunday.
