Corinthians owned forward Alexandre Pato claims he received an offer from Manchester United at the end of the summer transfer window.
The 26 year-old, who is on loan at Sao Paulo, is believed to be keen on returning to Europe, but has remained in Brazil, despite reports of numerous bids being made to take him away.
The majority of the offers made for Pato are said to have come from Italy, but the former Milan player has seemed to suggest a move to England was more likely.
"Two hours before [the window closed] I had a very good offer from Manchester United," he stated.
Whether Pato would be a success in the Premier League and at a club of Manchester United’s stature remains to be seen.
His record in Brazil with Corinthians was poor and even though he has improved since moving on to Sao Paulo – he"s got nine goals so far this season – he has not developed as expected and would surely struggle to make a telling impression with United.
