With an eye in the Brasileirão, Jorginho will rest some players against São Paulo on Wednesday
Vasco coach Jorginho revealed that he will rest players in the upcoming game due to the busy schedule of the club which has resulted in some being worn out.
After commanding a closed training session on the afternoon of Tuesday in São Januário, Jorginho stated that they will try to surprise São Paulo on Wednesday at the Maracanã, for the quarterfinal second-leg of the Copa do Brasil [lost first-leg 3-0]. The coach didn't mention any names but goalkeeper Martín Silva, who has a muscle injury in his right thigh, Nenê and Andrezinho are likely to miss out on the game. Leandrão is not available for selection in the competition, but Serginho and Luan are expected to start. Jorginho said: "We decided to rest some players. There come a time when one player or the other will feel worn out. And we must be careful not to lose a big match player. It's a different game, playing at home, we will have more rested players. Surely we can surprise them."
