Ex-Coritiba youngster Abner Felipe has ruptured his knee ligament for a third consecutive time, and will miss the rest of the season.
Abner was part of the Brazil squad in the 2013 U17 World Cup, but damaged his knee ligament during the tournament, but was bought by Real Madrid last summer. Shortly after his arrival, he once again ruptured his knee ligament, for the second time in 10 months. Abner was included in the club’s UEFA Champions League squad before his injury last year, and the Brazilian has been training under Rafa Benítez with the seniors recently. Real Madrid confirmed that Abner, who played 20 minutes of the second-half during Real Madrid Casilla’s 1-0 loss at Irún last weekend, has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee during training, and will miss the rest of the season.
