The 1-1 draw with Palmeiras at the Morumbi on Sunday could may well be the last game of Juan Carlos Osório as the coach of São Paulo.
According to UOL Esporte, there’s an impression inside the club that Osório is resigning because of the relationship with São Paulo’s board. The report reckons that even the players treat the departure of the Colombian coach as inevitable. Following dissatisfaction with the board in São Paulo, Osório interests the Mexican Football Federation as they’re looking for a Miguel Herrera replacement and sees October 10th as the deadline to announce their new boss. Wednesday’s Copa do Brasil quarterfinal second-leg with Vasco being his farewell game is a real possibility. The board just does not know the future of Osório because the coach does not speak openly about the issue, but the relationship is shaken. The manager didn’t expect the board to sell first-team players like Paulo Miranda, Rafael Tolói, Dória, Souza and Denílson and was told only Rodrigo Caio would be leaving the club.
