19-year-old Brazilian winger Kenedy was emotional after scoring his first goal in a Chelsea shirt on Wednesday night against Walsall.
In the 4-1 victory of the League Cup 3rd round, Kenedy provided the cross for Chelsea’s opening goal by Ramires, and the youngster then scored his team’s third with a firm shot. Kenedy knelt and wept after finding the back of the net as he was seen becoming emotional about scoring his first for the club. The Brazilian said he is grateful to coach José Mourinho and labeled the Portuguese manager as best in the world. He was quoted in Globo Esporte: “He guides me, and he speaks what I have to do. I am very happy to be trained by the best in the world. I have much to learn from him for the experience and for all that he has won. I just have to thank you for the opportunity. The first goal will stay as a mark in my life, it is unforgettable. A childhood dream.”
Kenedy also revealed that he feel privileged to be part of the same team as Oscar, Ramires, Willian and Diego Costa. He added: “I played with them in the video-game and now I have the honor of sitting next to them; it’s is a dream come true. I have much to learn from them all, who help me a lot, and with the whole group.”
