Brazilian coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo will be the new coach of Chinese second-division team Tianjin Songjiang from 2016.
As mentioned in Globo Esporte, the coach has reached an agreement with the Asian side and should be officially presented on Thursday. However, he will only take over from 2016 as there are just four more matches left in the current season. Luxemburgo is believed to have received a high salary proposal from the millionaire owner of the Chinese club and will also take his coaching staff with him. His contract will run for one year with an option to renew for two more seasons if he can promote his side to the top-division. The idea is to have the team’s pre-season in Rio de Janeiro and the coach will have freedom to reshape his team. Vanderlei Luxemburgo last worked at Cruzeiro but was sacked following the club’s poor results.
