Santos defender David Braz has denied what referee Flávio Rodrigues Guerra
wrote on his match-report to be submitted to the Brazil FA following
Corinthians" 2-0 win on Sunday.
David Braz was shown a red-card after an incident where full-back Zeca had
committed a foul inside the box on Corinthians striker Vágner Love. Braz
refused to leave the pitch claiming the referee has sent off the wrong
player., and has denied cursing the official. He told Globo Esporte: “I
never cursed. I did nothing. I want him [referee] to prove it. I see what
he wrote on his report. That"s not what happened. He kicked me out saying I
conceded the penalty; he even asked me who conceded the penalty! Then I
questioned: ‘How do you give a penalty without knowing who conceded the
penalty? How to do that?" Then he got all embarrassed and said nothing. I
said it was not me. The images are there. I said: ‘You will see, you will
be punished!" I stood near the area to question and to know why I had been
expelled. And he says that he thought I conceded the penalty…"
He added: “I am very upset. Something can be done. Why am I being mistaken
too? Man, it was a penalty, fine, but in my case, I"m being mistaken. I"m
paying the price for something I didn"t do. This has to be resolved. I
don"t know if they have to cancel the red. I am being mistaken, and Santos
as well."
