Sport have announced Paulo Roberto Falcão as their new coach until the end
of 2016 following Eduardo Baptista"s move to Fluminense last week.
A photo of club president João Humberto Martorelli next to vice-president
Arnaldo Barros and Falcão was circulating through social networks for the
past couple of days, but Sport had affirmed that nothing was imminent.
Martorelli was quoted in Globo Esporte: “When I saw the photo, I said it
was a meeting. I couldn"t open up about the negotiation because nothing was
set. We were talking, like we talked to other coaches. Our philosophy is to
communicate only when things are right. It is with great satisfaction that
we announce the arrival of Falcão. The negotiations were concluded today
[Sunday]. I"ve been in touch with him for over an year. We talked earlier
and we understand that he is a trained and competent professional."
