Less than 24 hours after sacking Enderson Moreira following the club"s poor run which saw them lost 9 of the last 12 matches, Fluminense have announced the appointment of Eduardo Baptista as their new boss.
The team"s new coach comes from Sport Recife, and he has signed a contract until the end of 2016. The 45-year-old coach has been at Sport since 2014, and will be officially presented by Fluminense on Friday. Sport, led by Eduardo Baptista, had defeated Enderson"s Fluminense last Sunday which deepened the crisis at the Rio based club, and president Peter Siemsen communicated the termination of the coach"s contract straight after the 4-1 defeat to Palmeiras at Maracanã. Sport was one of the only three teams in Brasileirão yet to have a managerial change, but now just Tite [Corinthians] and Levir Culpi [Atlético Mineiro] continue to be in their job since the start of the 2015 season.
