Luís Fabiano hasn’t played an official match for almost a month after suffering an injury on his right knee ligament, but is now focusing on returning to the field against Chapecoense and help his team.
Coincidentally, Luís Fabiano could return to the starting lineup for an important moment in the club’s history. São Paulo come into the fixture against Chapecoense with just one goal short of their 3000th goal at the Morumbi stadium. Luís Fabiano told the club’s website: “Staying out of any game is bad. Every player suffer when this happens. But this is over, I’m free of injury. Now I’m fit to play and help my teammates in the best possible way. I hope to contribute in the best way I know, and that’s scoring goals.”
He added: “Regardless of the 3000th goal of the club at Morumbi, scoring goals in a São Paulo shirt is special. And so I always try to enjoy every moment, because just being able to defend this club is already a source of pride for me.”
