Brazilian striker Diego Maurício was presented by Saudi Arabian first-division club Al-Qadisiyah on Tuesday after signing a six-month loan agreement with them.
Diego Maurício, who’s nickname is Drogbinha because of his appearance, has played for Flamengo and more recently at Bragantino. For Bragantino, Diego Maurício scored four goals in the Campeonato Paulista and two goals in the Brazilian Série B. The 24-year-old came through Flamengo as a promising striker in 2010, but was sold to Russian football in 2012. Before joining Bragantino, Diego Maurício wire the shirt of Portuguese side Vitória Setúbal. His agent Márcio Bittencourt was quoted in Globo Esporte: “The negotiation began in recent days. Today, all was done. It was good for all sides. The player is happy. It is a chance.”
Drogbinha is supposed to return to Bragantino in March next year, but Al-Qadisiyah are believed to have an option to buy if he stands out.
