Chapecoense have confirmed the appointment of new coach Guto Ferreira and the 50-year-old will start working with the group from Tuesday afternoon.
The contract will be until the end of the season and the announcement was made by Chapecoense few hours after the dismissal of Vinícius Eutrópio. As confirmed by president Sandro Pallaoro, the appointment of Guto Ferreira was agreed by all leaders of the club during a meeting on Monday morning. As mentioned in Globo Esporte, it was affirmed by the group on Monday afternoon that only few details were left to confirm the new coach of the club, and the announcement was made moments later. Guto Ferreira had two spells with Ponte Preta where he led the team in 107 matches which includes 57 victories, 28 defeats and 28 draws. Guto began his coaching career in the youth sectors of São Paulo and Internacional, and also has international experience. He worked in Portugal with Penafiel and Naval during the early 2000s.
