Competing for a place in the team’s attack for the midweek fixture against Fluminense, 22-year-old forward Kélvin has an extra motivation to find the net as he revealed his dream of scoring at the Maracanã stadium.
Hampered by a left knee injury early in the season, Kélvin only returned to play in April and has only played 17 matches for Palmeiras. In the absence of Dudu who’s suspended, coach Marcelo Oliveira sees Kélvin as an option in attack ahead of the showdown at Maracanã on Wednesday. He played in the second-half during Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Figueirense. Kélvin said: “The dream of every Brazilian player since childhood is playing at the Maracanã and score a goal. I will do my best so that I can go into the game and help the team. Even talked to some friends of mine that it will be a dream come true, representing Palmeiras.”
