The midfielder came to Flamengo after an underwhelming spell at Palmeiras where he was mainly injured, but has won the admiration of fans following a series of good performances.
Alan Patrick has turned out to be a key player for Flamengo and was greatly missed during the Copa do Brasil fixtures against Vasco. He’s currently on loan at Flamengo from Shakhtar Donetsk and has a contract until the end of this year. According to Globo Esporte, the executive director of the club, Rodrigo Caetano, has confirmed that they plan to ensure the midfielder stay until the end of 2016. Alan Patrick’s contract at Shakhtar runs out in June 2017, but Flamengo believe their good relationship with the Ukrainian club can help for the stay of the 24-year-old. Flamengo had played a friendly against Shakhtar earlier this year and had released Croatian striker Eduardo to Ukraine on the request of both Shakhtar and the player.
