Rafael da Silva has spoke of his desire to play for Brazil again and how much harder he has found it compared to club football.

Rafael joined Lyon in the summer to end his seven year stay at Manchester United. The right back hopes that the move can lead to him being given further chances at international level. Rafael last played for Brazil in 2012 but a mistake in the final of the Olympic games has led to him being left in the cold.

“To be selected by Brazil is harder than any club because the slightest mistake is not possible,” Rafael told the Le Parisien. “I made a mistake in the final of the Olympic Games in 2012, a bad pass that led to Mexico scoring and we lost two goals to one. At a club when you make a mistake, you can make up for it straight away in the next match but it is not possible with Brazil.”
