Former Brazil ace Juninho Pernambucano has slammed national team boss Dunga for dropping PSG defender Thiago Silva.
Dunga announced his squad for September’s friendlies against Costa Rica and USA on Thursday and the decision to omit former Seleção skipper Thiago Silva was the subject of much debate. Juninho is astonished by the centre-half’s treatment, accusing Dunga, who was made a scapegoat for Brazil’s disappointing showing at the 1990 World Cup, of failing to learn from the past. He wrote on his Twitter: “Thiago Silva is and will continue to be our best current defender. It seems that Dunga has forgotten 1990. He was presented as the culprit then and yet today, it is he who is designating the blame.”
