Agent Alex Firmino has suggested Hellas Verona midfielder Rômulo could yet move on in the summer transfer window.

The Italy international – he was born in Brazil, but has chosen to represent the Azzurri – spent the 2014-15 season on loan at Juventus, but a spate injuries limited him to just five appearances in all competitions.

As a result of his disappointing campaign, the Bianconeri neglected to activate their purchase option on Rômulo and he subsequently returned to Hellas Verona.

With no club coming forward to sign him as yet, it seems the 28 year-old is set to start the new season with the Mastini – an outcome that manager Andrea Mandorlini reportedly favours.

Despite this however, Firmino insists that it is still possible that Rômulo may be sold.

“The most important thing right now is that he’s fit and is training well,” he told Tuttomercatoweb, as reported by website Football Italia.

“For his future, I think we still need to wait, he will need to meet the club.

“We’ll see next week and make our assessment then.

“I know that Mandorlini appreciates him and wants him to stay at the club to help.

“Having said that, every scenario is currently open.”

Rômulo was signed by Hellas Verona from Fiorentina for a reported fee of €3.5 million in July 2014. He had spent the previous campaign on loan with them.

Prior to moving to Fiorentina, he had spells with Cruzeiro and Atlético Paranaense in Brazil, as well as also representing Santo André and Chapecoense.
