New Atlético Paranaense defender Alan Ruschel could make his debut in Saturday’s Brasileirão match against Santos.

The left full-back only completed his loan switch from Internacional on Wednesday and will remain in Curitiba until December.

Despite his recent arrival, it is believed that Atlético Head Coach Milton Mendes is considering putting him straight into the starting line up for Santos’ visit to the Arena da Baixada.

The tactician is forced into this decision, as he has to cope without the suspended Sidcley, after he picked up a yellow card in Tuesday’s 3-2 defeat away to Flamengo.

To put Ruschel straight in would be a risk, given that he has featured just eight times this season for Internacional and had not been in a squad for a Brasileirão match since June, when they ironically beat Santos, 1-0.

The 25 year-old has been on the fringes for most his time with Internacional, who picked him up from Chapecoense in January 2014.

In total, he has made just 14 appearances for the club and though he has failed to score, he has contribute two assists.

His switch to Atlético should give Ruschel a better chance of featuring more regularly and a possible opportunity to show his worth against Santos would arguably be the ideal start to his time with the Furacão.
