Former Chelsea defender Alex is believed to be close to leaving AC Milan after a disappointing first season.
The 33 year old joined Milan this time last year on a free transfer but struggled alongside the rest of the team as they finished 10th. Alex made 20 appearances but he is now likely to make no more as the club plan to terminate the year remaining on his contract.
Santos have enquired about their former centre back but Alex prefers to stay in Europe and looks set to move to Greece. Olympiakos are competing in this year’s Champions League and according to ESPN have contacted Alex as they look to bolster their defence. It seems that Alex will extend his European tour a little longer.
