Sporting CP have completed the signing of Bahia midfielder Bruno Paulista.

The Primeira Liga outfit confirmed on their official website that the 19 year-old would be arriving at the club, with an initial loan switch part of the agreement.

Paulista is set to remain with Sporting until the end of the 2015/16 campaign, at which point the club will have an option to sign him outright for a reported fee of €3.3 million.

The holding midfielder is Sporting’s ninth notable new addition of the summer transfer window, as they look to rebuild under new Head Coach Jorge Jesus.

Amongst the standout signings are fellow Brazilians Naldo and Ewerton, who have arrived from Udinese and Anji respectively, while former Corinthians target Teófilo Gutiérrez has been signed from River Plate and veteran Italy international Alberto Aquilani was signed on a free transfer earlier this week.

The latter will be one of the players who could be competing with Paulista for a starting berth, though the Brazilian may have to bide his time before getting a chance.

With Bahia, he has featured just 13 times across the Brasileirão and Brasileirão Série B, with his involvement this season particularly limited, though he did extend his contract until June 2020 in February of this year.
