Rumours of a possible move to Sunderland for Alexandre Pato have provoked a surprising reaction by supporters of Corinthians. Fans of the Paulista club have been posting on the Premier League club’s Facebook page encouraging the purchase of Brazilian striker. “I want Alexandre duck on Sunderland AFC" wrote fan Jessica Lemos, who had clearly been misusing Google translate [Pato means duck in Portuguese].
Pato is currently on loan at Corinthians’ rival Sāo Paulo, where his presence is causing discontent for Corinthians fans who are desperate for him to leave, bringing in a windfall for their club, as soon as possible.
