Lucas Pratto had a night to remember as his quickfire hat-trick sealad a 3-1 victory for Atlético Mineiro against São Paulo.

Atlético now remain two points clear at the top of the Brasileiro Série A while São Paulo are now eight points further behind in fifth.

Atlético took the lead in the 20th minute through great work from right back Marcos Rocha. A chip over the top found Pratto who bundled it home. Six minutes later and Pratto doubled the advantage after a wonderful flicked finish from Giovanni Augusto’s cross.

Augusto turned provider again on the stroke of half time when his chip through was dispatched clinically by Pratto who is in red hot form.

São Paulo battled well in the second period and got a goal back through Alexandre Pato’s 59th minute header. But that was all they had to show from a match Atlético Mineiro will fondly remember.
