Atlético Mineiro midfielder Maicosuel is set to complete his loan switch to Sharjah SC.

The UAE Arabian Gulf League outfit had struggled to conclude the move due to stalling negotiations, but confirmed on their official Twitter account last Thursday that the player had arrived to undergone medical examinations, with the deal now about to be signed off.

Maicosuel will remain with Sharjah until June 2016 and his arrival completes their four player foreign quota.

The 29 year-old joins fellow Brazilians Maurício Ramos and Wanderley, while midfielder Renato Cajá has also been brought in from Ponte Preta for a reported fee of €1.82 million.

Maicosuel’s move to Sharjah brings to end his stay at Atlético Mineiro. The versatile attacking midfielder was signed from Udinese for a reported fee of €3 million in July 2015 and managed four goals and five assists in 34 appearances.

With them, he also won the Recopa Sudamericana and Copa do Brasil in 2014 and the Minas Gerais State League this year.

Earlier in his career, Maicosuel also had a successful spell at Botafogo, before joining Udinese, and played in Europe with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim during the 2009/10 season.

His departure from Atlético comes after he missed their last three Brasileirão outings. He had featured in all 12 matches prior to that and had a return of three goals and two assists in 19 appearances across all competitions.
