Brazilian Allan has admitted that his move to Napoli is a ‘dream come true’.

The midfielder completed his switch from Udinese for a reported fee of €11.5 million earlier this month to bring to an end one of the longest running sagas of the Serie A summer transfer window.

Despite Allan’s contract expiring in June 2016, Napoli had to part with forward Duván Zapata and defender Miguel Britos, as well as the significant sum of money, to secure the 24 year-old.

Speaking to SportItalia, Allan outlined his happiness at finally arriving at Napoli and noted that he believes the team can have a successful season.

"It’s a fantastic group, they’ve welcomed me very well," he said, as reported by Football Italia.

"[Napoli Head Coach Maurizio] Sarri is trying out a lot of systems to allow us a good season, and whichever one the Coach chooses will be important if we’re to win.

"Napoli is a dream come true, and I have a great chance to do well with this team. We want to finish as high as we can, while taking things one game at a time."

Allan first arrived in Italy when Udinese signed him on loan from Granada – both clubs have the same owners – in July 2012.

He remained in that agreement at the club until July 2014, when he was signed outright for a reported fee of €3 million.

During his time at Udinese, Allan developed a reputation as one of Serie A’s most consistent midfielders and featured 116 times in all competitions, scoring twice.
