Robinho played for his new club Guangzhou Evergrande for the first time yesterday and helped his team beat Bayern Munich in a friendly.
The match finished 0-0 but Guangzhou prevailed on penalties thanks to a Thomas Müller miss. Despite the lack of goals the game was fast paced and exciting.
Bayern Munich controlled most of the play but Guangzhou had their chances and Robinho was one of the players to test Manuel Neuer.
Robinho hopes the surprise victory will inspire his team to win honours this term.
“It is a great challenge for me to play in the Chinese championship. I have very high expectations and I hope to win more trophies this season. It’s a unique club.”
